Who we are

Chayan is a product of Moonbyte Labs (https://moonbytelabs.pages.dev). It provides AI-conducted technical interviews on behalf of hiring companies ("the employer"). For candidate data, the employer is the controller and Moonbyte Labs acts as their processor.

What we collect

Account data for recruiters: name, company, email.

Candidate data provided by the employer: name, email, phone, and optionally resume text.

Interview data: microphone audio, webcam video (360p), full-screen video (720p, 5 fps), a text transcript, and proctoring signals (tab switches, window focus loss, fullscreen exits, copy/paste, number of faces visible, screen-sharing state, extended-display detection).

Optional feedback you give at the end of the interview.

How we use it

To run the interview: speech is transcribed in real time and sent to an AI language model to generate the interviewer's replies, which are converted back to speech.

To produce an evaluation report for the employer. The report is advisory: hiring decisions are made by people at the employer.

Proctoring signals are shown to reviewers as neutral observations and are never treated as proof of misconduct.

Sub-processors

Supabase (database and file storage), LiveKit (real-time audio), Deepgram (speech-to-text), Anthropic (language model), Cartesia (text-to-speech), Resend (email), Vercel and Railway (hosting), Sentry (error monitoring). Interview content is not used by these providers to train models under our agreements.

Retention

Audio, webcam and screen recordings are deleted automatically: 90 days after the interview for paying workspaces, 30 days for free trials. Transcripts and reports are kept until the employer deletes them or closes their account.

Your rights

You can ask the employer, or us at the address below, to access, correct or delete your data, or to withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent before the interview simply means you don't start it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Recordings are private and only reachable through short-lived (1 hour) signed links given to the employer's authorised recruiters.
